This plain knit sock is perfect for showing off hand dyed yarn. The simple meditative knitting allows you to listen to a book being read to you while you knit. Colors shift automatically and do all the work for you. The afterthought heel maintains the pattern made by the variegated yarn. And knitting toe-up helps you easily change length to accommodate different size skeins.

This pattern was used to introduce a new series of KAL called BlackKnitLit, A KAL highlighting Black literature. The kit included, a skein of a special dyed A Raisin in the Sun colorway, the pattern and copy of the book. Watch this space for future kits and KALs

This KAL is about being seen and heard. When I read stories by Black authors, I feel both seen and heard. Knitting gives me a sense of spiritual peace. With BlackKnitLit I bring this wholeness to you. By joining together, we can create a sense of community that has been lost in the pandemic. And by knitting together, reading a story that is not often told, we have an opportunity to strengthen our diverse community.
